Make-up Looks for the Holiday Season
The holidays are here! I love getting all glammed up this time of year. Two sure-fire looks to up your glam game are a Red Lip and a Smokey Eye. You can wear simple makeup and a red lip will make your look striking! Or go all glam and add a smokey eye and lashes!
RED LIP
I just love a bold red lip for the holidays!
This is how I do it:
Exfoliate your lips! I mix a little sugar and coconut oil, exfoliate, and gently wipe off with a wet cloth.
Lightly apply foundation over the lip area before applying red lip liner. You can also brush a light layer of powder over your lips.
Color Match your red lipliner with your red lipstick. I'm wearing the best-selling lipstick of all time - Ruby Woo by MAC Cosmetics. This long-wearing matte vivid blue-red is known around the world as the universal red that radiates on everyone. Apply the lip liner along the edges of lips and then fill in the entire lip for longer wear. Add lipstick and blend with a lip brush.
Go along the edge of lips with a small concealer brush and a small amount of concealer to prevent bleeding. I like to use a brush with an edge. This will provide a lasting finish.
Wearing a red matte lipstick helps with bleeding. If you do not want a matte look then apply a light clear lip gloss for some shine!

SMOKEY EYE
The second look is a Smokey Eye. I have coupled this look with the easiest false lashes. It will look perfect on New Year’s Eve when that ball drops (I promise!).
This is how I do it:
I use a matte neutral all over the lid.
Then, I apply a silver shadow all over the lid and blend upwards just above the crease.
Use a medium gray on the outer corners.
For a pop of color and shimmer, I applied Jezebel all over the lid (a shimmering rose gold by Stila). It is a beautiful creamy shadow that blends easily.
Add lashes to complete the look. For more on the lashes…see below.
Here is a better look at this dazzling and long-wearing liquid shadow. It comes in multiple shades. For a darker smokey eye, the Molten Midnight by Stila is gorgeous!!

LASHES
Line and Lash by Eylure Beauty are the easiest false lashes that I have ever used. Apply the clear or black liner just above the lash line and apply lashes. Yep, it's that easy. No messy glue.
Longer and fuller lashes really make the eyes pop and give you a more youthful look. Tutorial below.
