A blog about K-Beauty for those who have never tried it.
K-Beauty 101
You have probably already heard about Korean Beauty, known as "K-beauty" for short, or the infamous multi-step Korean skincare regimen.
In recent years, K-Beauty, has become somewhat of a global phenomenon. South Korea is known as a beauty mecca and South Korean women are known for having porcelain and flawless skin.
As a skincare junkie, I find the K-Beauty philosophy and multi-step skincare regimen fascinating!
I started researching and learning about the philosophy that is behind the Korean skincare routine. There are so many Korean skincare lines and products. Korean beauty ingredients are typically innovative and inspired by nature.
For example, I’m obsessed with the Snail Muscin
Another product that I hadn’t use often was an Essence. It truly drenches the skin with hydration, which is essential for maturing skin.
Korean Beauty is mostly about customization for everyone’s unique skin.
It doesn't need to be complicated. You can follow the traditional 10 steps (listed below) or just choose the steps that work for you.
With that said, it doesn’t take too long for this 10 step process and your skin will look AMAZING! If it seems overwhelming, maybe try it all for a week or two to get your skin off to a great start and then scale back on steps or switch it up.
STEP 1: Double cleanse with an oil cleanser
STEP 2: Double Cleanse with a water cleanser
STEP 3: Exfoliate.
You don’t need to do this step every day, but it should be based on your skin type and needs.
STEP 4: Toner
STEP 5: Essence (Snail Mucin)
STEP 6: Face Oils, Serums, + Ampoules
These should be addressed to your specific skin issues. Here is what I’m currently using and absolutely loving it.
STEP 7: Masks
This could be sheet masks or other hydrating masks. You don’t need to mask everyday. I do recommend at least once a week.
STEP 8: Eye Cream
Make sure to keep those under eyes hydrated.
STEP 9: Moisturizer
Moisturizer: Seal it all in with a moisturizer.
STEP 10: Protection
At the end of your routine, we want to protect the skin and you should apply one of these 2 products.
Overall, my skin is looking hydrated, glowing, and smoother!
It's not about having a lot of products, but rather about having the right products for your skin type and using them in the right order.
If you try this routine let me know! I would love to hear how it worked and what worked best for you.
